New Beginnings.
After sneaking out of rehab, my mother turned herself back into to the police days later and decided that she would pay for her mistakes that she made when it came to her drug habit. When she landed herself back in jail this time I knew it was going to happen, because she told me she was turning herself in the night before she did it, she apologized to my brother & I for all the mistakes and wrongdoings she as a mother shouldn't have done because she realized that all she was doing was harming herself and her body, tarring her kids apart, especially me. She did all of her time given to her without going to rehab, they offered her a chance to go to rehab and she refused it. She was just going to suck it up and do her time in jail no matter how much she hated it. After getting out of jail, my mother met my stepfather Marty and continued staying sober. Fast Forward five almost 6 years my mother is still with my stepfather, is still sober, has her drivers license, and a vehicle that's paid for. I finally can say that I have my old mother back. My 18tb Birthday rolled around and I moved out of my grandparents and moved in with my mother and stepfather. I am truly the happiest I've ever been. I'm very thankful that my mother has found a very good man and I'm beyond thankful for her sobriety.
While in high school though, I made really great friends and was part of the PHS Honor Choir a music program that I took as an elective (non-required) class from my Freshman-Senior year in high school. I met some really great teachers and one of my favorite teachers Tonya Porter that I became very close to during my time at Prestonsburg High School Tonya, is one of the most down to earth people I've ever met not to mention, she's beautiful from the inside out. I really enjoyed my time at PHS and I'll never forget the memories I made and the friends I had during my time there.
